How can we use our resources to improve the world as much as possible?

Effective altruism (EA) is about combining the will to do good with research and reason so that our actions have the greatest impact possible. Effective Altruism Austin works to help Austin, TX locals answer questions such as: how should we prioritize between different societal problems? Which solutions seem most promising? What career choices and donations make the biggest difference? And then act on the answers.

What is Effective Altruism?

Effective altruism research institutes use scientific method, rationality, and critical thinking to find the best ways to help others. Intellectual honesty and epistemic humility are important values. We let evidence and good arguments guide which efforts we should focus on.
